About the Author
Dr. Marilou Ryder serves as Associate Professor of Education in the EDD program for Organizational Leadership at Brandman University, part of the Chapman University System. Marilou holds a master's degree from Syracuse University and received her doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne in 1998. Dr. Ryder's scholarly interests range widely, from the history of women in leadership to that of mentoring teachers to become future school leaders. Her dissertation entitled, "The Impact of Male Gender Dissonance on Women's Potential Eligibility for Advancement to the Position of Superintendent" was later published as a popular book, entitled, The SeXX Factor: Breaking the Unwritten Codes that Sabotage Personal and Professional Lives, by New Horizon Press in 2003. She recently authored Rules of the Game: How to Win a Job in Educational Leadership, a professional guide book that offers "Insider Tips" and "Trade Secrets" to help educational leaders reach their career goals

Dr. Tamerin Capellino serves as an Assistant Professor of Education and was instrumental in the design and successful launch of a new doctoral program in Organizational Leadership at Brandman University, part of the Chapman University System. During her tenure at Brandman she has also served in several key leadership roles including Chair of the Educational Administration program, Chair of the doctoral program in Organizational Leadership, and Instructional Designer. For this work, she was named School of Education Faculty Member of the Year in 2013. Tamerin holds a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne. Dr. Capellino is active in scholarly pursuits and is known for her lively and informative presentation skills and has presented at a variety of conferences for both small and large groups across the state.

92 Tips from the Trenches is a must read for anyone in school administration. Dr. Ryder and Capellino carefully crafted a book that captures tips from some of the best leaders in education. Quotes from leaders in the field were very poignant and will hit home for the reader. I loved the 92 tips, which school leaders can use in their daily work. If every school administrator read this book and followed the advice posited by Dr. Ryder and Dr. Capellino our students would be the benefactors. Favorite Tip: Never Miss a Good Chance to Shut UP!!!

Required Reading for Educational Leaders!!

This publication is a must read for all leaders serving our schools. I believe that most of these tips, if taken seriously by the reader, will make a difference for how they lead. Ryder and Capellino’s heartfelt accounting of their experiences in the trenches as school administrators is a required read for anyone wanting [what they term] another season in the game of educational leadership.

This book is a must read for everyone in or thinking about getting into school and district administration. I think this is one of the most important contributions to the anthropology of South Asia in the last twenty years. It rings profoundly true and helps us understand Indian civic identity in a manner unmatched previously in the literature. Mines finds a way to critique Dumont while not forgetting his important contributions. It provides an entirely new way to look at Indian identity and civic life - by thinking of an individuality which is defined by the relationships that a person has with others - but that leaves room for a sense of self. This is important readfing for political scientists, economists, as well as anthropologists, and would also be helpful to those in the development world working on demand-driven approaches.

A yardstick for the new way to think about business

As business leaders reel under the pressure of incessant change and an increasingly skeptical (and fickle) customer base, the requirement for a new direction and new attitude is paramount. Stoiber does a deft job providing some of the answers. Just as important, Stoiber poses some provocative questions that business leaders need to grapple with. "Didn't See It Coming" will draw inevitable comparisons with Simon Sinek and George Lois but "Didn't See It Coming" adds a more personal dimension. Stoiber writes from a very personal POV highlighting his own journey from excitement to increasing disillusionment with how marketing, and business in general, has lost its direction and lost its soul. Ultimately that disillusionment leads to soul-searching and a powerful re-imagining of how to think of business. A way ground in making a positive contribution to the planet. Read this book if you want to laugh at Stoiber's artful skewering of the marketing industry. Where the book is infinitely better is as a yardstick for how we all need to think differently about business - and what we're doing to make it better.

This may be the great North American hash (in the best possible and breakfast sense) of marketing books -- there’s a bit of everything packed into a very easy, accessible and mostly entertaining read.
It’s part history, part tell-all, part confessional, part how-to-and-not-to and plenty insightful -- it may not be “marketing: warts and all” but Stoiber certainly shows you some of the sector’s mild skin rash and its saving graces.
Stoiber’s style is easy and conversational; it’s the kind of book you might get him to spill out over the course of a few decent cocktails. Still there’s some real insight on topics ranging from climate change and sustainability to brand development and authenticity.
Stoiber has a talent for self-deprecating promotion, oxymoronic as that may sound, and while he intended just to get people thinking and considering “what’s next” I think readers will get a great deal more, especially those who live to sell their respective brands.

About the Author
Yann was born in Marseille in 1954. He began his career in advertising and architectural design before sinking into the world of comics with material for the student newspaper Balak Spirou in 1974. After a brief stint at Curiosity Magazine, he partnered with Conrad to create Innommables, published by Dargaud, and then Bob Marone published by Gl�nat. The prolific author eventually abandoned illustration (except for the occasional sketch or thumbnail) to concentrate purely on writing, and he has penned innumerable works illustrated by some of the greatest French and European artists, including Yslaire (the first episode of Sambre), Yves Barge (Freddy Lombard), Morris (Lucky Luke), Ren� Hausman (Aire Libre) and Wozniak (Star Chasers)

This is why I keep buying comic books

I read way too many comics and really get tired of them sometimes. But occasionally I buy one like Grand Duke that's so good I have to keep looking for more.

Like other reviewers mentioned, the artist specializes in historic planes. He does an amazing job on not just those but on people and landscapes too. The splash pages are perfectly drawn and placed. The icing on the cake is the story and dialogue are awesomely realistic. I was engaged. It even has little hints of mysticism, fantasy, fate, etc. I had to reread a few sections to fully appreciate all the details and imagery. This book exceeds all expectations.

(The only minor flaw is the nudity is a little fan servicey, a little pinup girly vs. the rest of the book's realism. Uhh, again, that's a MINOR complaint for male readership.)

GRAND INDEED

This is one of the most beautiful books that I have ever seen. Let this guy illustrate the next Marvel or DC event and let the mainstream comics fans see artwork every bit as good as Alex Ross best work. A very compelling, human story set amidst the horrors of WW2. "Night Witches" — the 588th Night Bomber Regiment. The all female unit of the former U.S.S.R. against the deadly Luftwaffe. Keep an eye out for the artist Romain Hugault.

For those who were wondering, this volume contains all three volumes (which are also available, but untranslated) of The Grand Duke translated into English.

The Grand Duke follows the experiences of a Luftwaffe and Soviet air aces -- and their convoluted interactions with each other and their respective comrades and superiors, as well as their respective fortunes.

The artwork is outstanding, especially the depiction of the type planes each flew or rode in, and with the full color artwork, this is a volume that one can simply enjoy for the pictures as well as the story it chooses to tell. Especially concerning the air-war on the Eastern Front.

Dr. Shiavi has been an active member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) and is presently an Associate Editor for the Transactions on Biomedical Engineering. He is also an active member and past President of the International Society of Electrophysiology and Kinesiology.

sophisticated maths treatment

Active noise cancellation is one of these nifty ideas that can be quickly described and understood using high school physics. And in the last 10 years, there have been more products out on in the marketplace, that apply this idea.

But if you want to delve deeper into the field, this book will give an appreciation of the complexity. Hansen takes you beyond a simple brochureware explanation. The subject combines electronics and mechanics, along with control systems. The discussion is sophisticated. Hopefully, the maths won't deter you. Though it can be formidable, even to someone with an undergraduate degree in engineering or the physical sciences.

He also gives a good discussion of the various commercial usages.

A real miracle of a find!

Excellent, delightful, and one great tale of adventure and archealogy! The most enjoyable 'science' book I have ever read. This most humble of ships, worn out and left to rot at the bottom of the Sea of Galilee in its day. It was perserved by that mud for 2000 years to survive and be cherished today as a symbol of a Jewish resistance to the Romans in a sea battle, and the physical reality of the actual kind of boat St. Peter fished from. And only a continuing series of miracles, big and small, brought this treasure from mud to museum safely.
